Job Title – Platform Engineer
Location & flexibility - Oxfordshire - hybrid
Salary - £35,000 - £50,000 DOE
Role Overview:
The Platform Engineer is responsible for designing, managing, and optimising enterprise platform infrastructure that supports critical business operations.
This includes working with networking, compute, and storage components, as well as platform technologies such as Active Directory, SCCM, SolarWinds, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), and User Access Devices (UADs).
A key focus of this role is leveraging automation to enhance operational efficiency, reduce manual effort, and ensure the scalability and reliability of platform services.
About you:
- 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, infrastructure management, or a related role.
- Expertise in managing Active Directory, SCCM, SolarWinds, and other enterprise-level technologies.
- Hands-on experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Ansible, Terraform.
- Strong knowledge of scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, or Bash, with experience developing and deploying automation solutions.
- Experience with virtualisation platforms such as VMware, Citrix, or Hyper-V.
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts (e.g., DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and firewalls) and compute/storage systems.
- MUST BE ELIGBLE FOR SC CLEARANCE
