Job Title – SAP Project Engineer

Location &, flexibility – Swindon/Field Based

About the Job –
As a Project Engineer (Senior Authorised Person – SAP), you will be responsible for the operations delivery of HV and LV installations across some of the UK’s most significant EV, Renewables and Industrial & Commercial (I&C) projects. You will take direct responsibility for overseeing junior team members and ensuring the safe and professional installation of electricity networks.
  • Responsible for leading and overseeing HV & LV network installations for major low-carbon projects.
  • Manage and supervise all site personnel working on HV & LV networks.
  • Assist in the testing and commissioning of HV/LV distribution systems.
  • Plan and coordinate projects as well as fault response call outs.
  • Support the training and development of team members aiming to become LV AP of HV AP
  • Conduct audits, generate reports, and manage project budgets to maintain efficiency.
  • Act as a Standby Engineer for the extensive O&M portfolio, covering over 2,000 sites across the UK.
About you -
  • A skilled and experienced Project Engineer with a proven track record in the energy sector.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working for an ICP, DNO or IDNO at voltage levels up to 33kV (accepting 11kV with extensive experience).
  • Strong problem-solving ability with the flexibility to adapt in challenging situations.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments, create RAMS and issue/cancel safety documents.
  • Strong understanding of network anomalies and phase rotation.
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to manage stakeholders and project lifecycle.
  • Full UK Driving licence (Maximum of 3 points).
