Job Title –  Wayleave Contracts Manager (Solar)

Location &, flexibility – Remote working with National travel when required

Salary & Benefits – Negotiable salary DOE + Company Vehicle + Pension Contributions.
 
About the Job:

As the Wayleave Contracts manager, you will play a crucial role in securing wayleave agreements for the installation of solar infrastructure, with a specific focus on public sector projects. You will work closely with local authorities, government bodies and other public sector institutions to negotiate and secure land rights for solar development.  
 
  • You will be responsible for leading negotiations with public sector councils, local authorities and governments to secure wayleave agreements for the installation and maintenance of solar panels on school buildings and land.
  • Draft, review and manage a range of legal contracts, including service level agreements (SLAs), partnership agreements and construction-related contracts, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
  • You’ll be responsible for working closely with councils, schools, and third parties to align all legal frameworks and contractual terms with project timelines and requirements and chasing for updates as necessary.
  • You’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate records of all wayleave agreements, licences, and consents, ensuring documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant teams.
  • Ensure all contracts meet public sector procurement rules, relevant legal requirements and regulatory frameworks for renewable energy projects.

About you:
 
  • Proven experience in wayleave management, land rights acquisition or a related field preferably in renewable energy or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong understanding of public sector procurement processes, wayleaves and relevant regulations.
  • Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to secure favourable terms and build positive relationships with councils and other stakeholders.
  • DBS Certificate, enabling you to visit schools unsupervised.
  • Renewable energy experience is advantageous as full training can be provided.
  • Full UK Driving licence.
