About the Job:
As the Commissioning Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and technicians in executing the commissioning activities of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage systems (BESS) projects. This role involves direct interaction with clients and EPC partners, ensuring a successful project commissioning to plan, coordinate, and manage on-site commissioning processes while resolving day-to-day challenges.
- You’ll be responsible for developing and executing detailed commissioning plans, including resource allocation, logistics, and scheduling as well as establishing and standardizing commissioning processes, tools, and documentation.
- Oversee on-site commissioning and acceptance testing to achieve commercial operation.
- Manage and organize a team of 4–5 engineers and technicians, assigning projects and tasks as well as lead daily commissioning meetings, provide progress updates, and resolve conflicts within the team and hold regular team meetings to share information and encourage collaboration.
- Ensure commissioning meets all technical and safety standards, including Controls and communication networks, Power Conversion Systems (PCS), Batteries and Energy Management Systems (EMS), Auxiliary systems (e.g., fire detection, HMI, UPS), Balance of plant relay protection and metering.
- Create professional commissioning and testing reports for stakeholders and maintain accurate records for quality compliance and testing results.
- Travel up to 50% of the time, with the ability to stay on-site for 2–3 weeks during commissioning activities.
About You:
- Masters Degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of technical experience in substation, solar EPC, engineering or energy storage industries.
- At least 2 years of team management and 2 years in direct commissioning experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of power system installation, construction, design phase engineering and project scheduling.
- Full Driving licence with willingness to work flexible hours, including evening and weekends as required.
