About the Job:
As the Service Technician, you will begin with an intensive 8–16-week hands-on training period, focusing on the commissioning of new BESS sites and gaining comprehensive knowledge of the clients technology. After the training phase, you will transition into their service team to support ongoing preventative and corrective maintenance. The role will also involve fulfilling obligations under Long-Term Service Agreements (LTSA) for BESS projects across the UK, requiring extensive travel and technical expertise in BESS and renewable power generation equipment.
- You’ll be responsible for assisting in the commissioning at new BESS sites as well as conducting both preventative and corrective maintenance of equipment, ensuring compliance with warranty and performance standards.
- You’ll be required to fulfil LTSA obligations including working on ESC, PCS RMU, transformers and SCADA systems.
- You’ll provide on-site diagnostics, troubleshooting and hands-on technical support to maintain equipment and meet availability and capacity guarantees.
- You’ll be responsible for completing work order documentation accurately and manage the spare parts inventory to ensure site readiness whilst also following proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) and switching procedures to maintain site safety.
About You:
- Qualified electrical technician with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a service environment, ideally in renewable energy of BESS systems.
- CSCS Certified and familiar with inverters and SCADA systems.
- Knowledge of national codes, medium voltage power systems and energy storage application is a plus.
- Valid drivers licence with a clean driving record.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively across the UK (80%+ of the time)
