Location & Flexibility – Sydney or Melbourne, Australia – Travel required up to 50% and the ability to stay on site for 2-3 weeks at a time during commissioning activities.

About the Job:
As the Senior Commissioning manager, you will be responsible leading a team of commissioning managers and engineers who are responsible for executing all commissioning activities of utility scale battery storage projects. You will organize and manage the team to work as the key technical liaison with the client and EPC partners during the commissioning phase of the projects. Working closely with the project and product engineering teams and suppliers.
- You’ll be responsible for developing and executing commissioning plans, including resourcing, logistics and scheduling whilst managing 2 or 3 commissioning managers.
- Develop plans and procedures for quality inspection and commissioning tasks.
- Support commissioning managers on site during various commissioning and acceptance testing activities.
- Assign team members to specific projects and activities and organize the overall commissioning activities ensuring that the commissioning processes and tools are established and standardized.
- Ensure that proper documentation is established for commissioning and testing records whilst collaborating with stakeholders to define and execute testing protocols to achieve commercial operation, based on market rules AHJ/utility requirements and contracts.
About You:
- Masters degree in electrical engineering or related engineering discipline
- Minimum 10 years direct technical experience from any of the following: Substation or Solar EPC, Engineering firm, Energy Storage integrator or similar.
- 5 years team management experience
- 5 year of Commissioning experience
- Deep knowledge in power system installation, construction, design phase engineering, local jurisdictions requirement, project scheduling and system layout design.
- Ability to be flexible with working hours (evening and weekends when required) and to travel to project sites as needed.
